General Terms of Rental

  1. Throughout the rental period, the tree, pot and saucer will remain the property of Christmas on the Hill.

  2. By agreeing to these terms, you are agreeing to water the tree every day, unless there is still sufficient water in the saucer. Failure to water the tree sufficiently will result in us retaining your deposit.

Delivery

  1. Delivery & Collection or Self-Pick Up & Self-Return dates must be selected at the point of ordering and are finalised upon payment of your order.

  2. A confirmation signature is required upon delivery, so please ensure someone is available to sign for the tree.  If you choose for us to leave your tree in a safe place, this is at your own risk and your tree will be deemed delivered and signed for.

  3. Delivery will be between 8am and 8pm on your chosen day.

  4. If you are no longer available to accept the delivery on the agreed day, please contact us via phone or email before 8am on the morning of the delivery.  If no one is available to sign for the tree at the point of delivery, and no delivery instructions have been left for us, further delivery charges may be incurred by you.

  5. Delivery is to your doorstep only.  Our delivery drivers are not insured to enter your home, so please do not ask them to do so.  We will be following social distancing guidelines and delivery will be contactless.  Remember, the trees are grown in soil in their pots and are heavy to move, so please ensure you have someone to help you if necessary.

Collection

  1. Collection will be between 8am and 8pm on your chosen day.

  2. Collection is from your doorstep only.  Our delivery drivers are not insured to enter your home, so please do not ask them to do so. We will be following social distancing guidelines and collection will be contactless.  Remember, the trees are grown in soil in their pots and are heavy to move, so please ensure you have someone to help you if necessary.

  3. Please ensure the tree is clear of decorations, lights and tinsel and is by the door so it is ready to be collected on the agreed collection day.  If you choose to leave your tree outside your home on the day of collection, please remember you are still responsible for the tree until the point Christmas on the Hill have collected it.  We will not be liable for theft or any damages.

Retaining the Deposit

  1. The hirer must follow the care instructions carefully.  Failure to care for the tree adequately may result in the loss of the deposit. This forms part of the Terms & Conditions.

  2. Damage to branches or the pot, or excessive loss of needles, may result in the loss of the deposit.

  3. Please do NOT  use artificial snow/flock/glitter sprays.  These contain chemicals that will  seriously  damage the tree and shorten its life, and will result in the loss of your deposit.

  4. Deposits will be refunded in full once the tree has been received back at the farm and has been checked and confirmed to be in good order - usually by around 15th January.

Cancellations, Refunds & Exchanges

  1. The rental trees are living items that are re-used annually.  They grow as nature intended and have not endured the strict, and sometimes wasteful, quality control culling procedure that cut trees do. Therefore please expect them to have more variation in shape and character than a typical cut tree.  We will not accept swaps or refunds after the tree has been signed for.

  2. Rental cancellations must be made by email no later than 24 hours before the agreed delivery day.  Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the agreed delivery day will result in us retaining your deposit.

  3. Trees cannot be refunded or returned after they have been signed for, except in accordance with your legal rights, for example in the event they are deemed faulty or damaged at the point of delivery.

  4. The cancellation right under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 does not apply to plants.

  5. The trees have been lovingly cared for all year, including during their transportation, so we expect the tree you receive will be happy and healthy.  However, if you disagree and you feel your tree is not in great shape, please let us know at the point of delivery and we will endeavour to swap it for another.

  6. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for information on how we treat any data you provide to us.
